Dubai is undoubtedly one of the most incredible places in the world. All the glitz, glamour and gold make it like nowhere else, and it absolutely has to be on the bucket list of any world traveler. There are plans to create more unimaginably incredible things in this desert oasis of a city, such as the worlds’ building to be taller than 1km!
For now, here is a list of some of the craziest things that you can see in Dubai.

The Burj Khalifa

Only one building can hold the title of the tallest building in the world, and that’s the Burj Khalifa. At 830m tall and with 163 floors, there is truly nothing like it in the world. Its closest challenger is a whole 200m smaller!
You can even stay in the hotel that the building houses, for a big price of course!

Go Skiing

Now you can go skiing in lots of different places around the world, but where else can you do it when the mercury is above 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit)?
Ski Dubai is an indoor ski slope that operates year-round, so if you want to hit the slopes or even just cool down, then Ski Dubai is an absolute must!

See - The World

You can get a nice view of the whole world all from Dubai, albeit a slightly smaller version.
This man-made archipelago of islands has had its fair share of controversy in the past, but it’s coming back with a vengeance. If you can’t afford the few million pounds it would cost to own one of these islands, the Lebanon island is open to the public.

Get some gold from the ATM

We’re all used to heading to the ATM to pick up a few quid, but in Dubai you can take gold out rather than cash!
Based in the Palace Hotel, this ATM is a perfect metaphor for the all the over the top glitz and glamour that you’re bound to experience in Dubai.

Get pulled over by a Lamborghini

With all the supercars in Dubai, the police had to go over the top to be able to compete with drivers who break the law.
With a fleet of more than 10 supercars including a Lamborghini Aventador, Bugatti Veyron and a Bentley Continental GT, you may consider trying to get arrested!

Gold Cars

We don’t mean cars that are painted gold, we mean cars that are plated in gold.
Such is the massive amounts of disposable money that is available to Dubai’s elite, many of them choose to get their cars plated gold to show just how much money they have.
I don’t know about you, but I’d be too scared to leave on of those parked on the street!

Live in Luxury

If you have a bit of extra money lying around, then why not stay in the Burj Al Arab Hotel? Rated as 7 stars and costing well over £1000 a night, you might need more than a bit of spare cash.
With a butler on every store and a complimentary, gold plated iPad to use during your stay, there is truly no experience like it in the world.

Get an Uber, the Right Way

No doubt you’re used to booking an Uber and waiting for a car like a Toyota Camry to come and collect you and drive you to your destination. Not in Dubai.
You can order a helicopter through Uber Chopper in Dubai, so you can not only get to your destination in style, but you can get a brilliant aerial view of one of the greatest cities in the world at the same time!

Play golf in the desert

If you played golf in the middle of the desert you’d expect to be hitting out of the bunker a lot, but there are 11 golf courses in Dubai that rise up out of the desert like a green mirage.
Fun fact, the Emirates Golf Club used over 1.3 billion litres of water to irrigate their course in 2013, less than half of what they needed in 2007 before water restrictions were brought in.

Go and watch the camel racing

It may not be Royal Ascot, but it’s experience all the same. What’s more is that the camels aren’t even raced by people, it’s robots that take the reins!
It used to be children who raced the camels, but not only was that dangerous, some of the children were slaves. Since the government cracked down on the camel racing it is now the perfect place to see how some of the traditions of Dubai marry with the worldwide tech boom.

Sleep with the fishes

We don’t mean this like a veiled, mafia style threat. You can actually stay in an underwater suite at the Atlantis Hotel.
I mean sure, it’ll set you back a few thousand pounds a night, but like everything in Dubai it’s over the top and lavish beyond all belief.

Chill Out

If you want to take a break from the harsh desert heat, then why not head to the Chillout Bar, a bar made entirely of ice.
They’ll make sure that you have a nice, warm coat to wear for the duration of your visit because at -6 degrees, you’re sure to feel the winter chill.

Go Skydiving

Yes, you can do this almost anywhere in the world, but skydiving over Dubai offers unparalleled views of this glorious city.
Your dive will take place over the Palm Jumeirah, another man-made archipelago of islands. So not only will you be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the surrounding desert, but also the ingenuity of human beings.

Go Four Wheel Driving

Take a trip over the sand dunes just outside of Dubai to experience the desert first hand.
Camp out under the stars overnight to experience an authentic Bedouin lifestyle that is still lived by so many in this part of the world. It makes for a nice escape from the glitz and glamour of modern Dubai.

Eat Metres of Pizza

This one is self-explanatory. You can eat pizza, by the metre.
At the aptly named restaurant “Pizza by the Metre”, chow down on a long piece of everyone’s favourite Italian style dish until you can’t eat any more. Don’t worry if a metre is too much for you though, they also come in halves!
